Emergence is the home of Conscious Pedagogy, a holistically minded and academically grounded approach to education that fuses structure with spontaneity to guide each student's exploration and expansion within a creative, flexible, and compassionate psychological context. Our primary age demographic consists of middle and high school students, although our instructors can provide equally vital and meaningful support to both younger and older learners. Areas of focus include strategically oriented SAT and ACT training, collaborative college essay and application development, small-group homeschool support, and personalized math and language instruction.

 

Founder and primary instructor Eric Micha’el Leventhal is an honors graduate of Stanford University with more than twenty years of experience as an independent educator. A self-published author and instructor of mathematics, philosophy and religion at Seabury Hall on Maui, his varied background includes both formal and informal studies in the fields of international education, cultural psychology, developmental editing, comparative linguistics, and holistic healing therapies.
